Nick Nolte locked in a room with Nick Nolte. That's the basic idea of Director Tom Thurman's latest documentary. The actor, often praised for his depth of characters, or often whispered about in Hollywood circles, reveals all. It's a bit existential, but wildly entertaining as Nolte the newsman poses tell-all questions to Nolte the salty actor. The documentary made its debut today at the Cannes sales market, part of the Cannes Film Festival in France.
Thurman hired Neil Kesterson of Dynamix Productions to post-produce the soundtrack. Shot on location at Nolte's California residence by the crew of Post Time Productions, No Exit reveals answers to long sought after questions about Nolte's inner thoughts. It also leaves one with new questions. The documentary features interviews with Jacqueline Bisset, Alan Rudolph, Rosanna Arquette, F.X. Feeney, Barbara Hershey, Mike Medavoy, Paul Mazursdky, James Gammon, Powers Boothe and Ben Stiller. The documentary is currently being marketed for distribution rights in the U.S. and abroad.
