Dynamix in the Field
Dynamix Hired for Ford Motor Company Commercial
On Monday September 19, Dynamix hit the field at Commonwealth Stadium along with Post Time Productions, MidWest Grip, and director Jeff Smith ofOasis Films from North Carolina to help produce a new Ford commercial. Dynamix provided location audio, as well as reference audio distribution for cameras and clients. Former UK Football great Tim Couch served as talent. The only hitch in the day was the on and off rain. Watch for the spots to air regionally on major television networks.
Dynamix Tech Notes
The Ford spots were shot on Canon 5D Mkii DSLRs. This means audio needed to be recorded separately, just like a film shoot. In order to maintain lip sync, a “smart” slate with a timecode display was employed. These timecode numbers matched the same timecode numbers being simultaneously written into the audio files. The video and audio are later matched up in video post by lining up the matching timecode numbers. There are several other ways to achieve synchronization. With our 25-plus years of experience of lining up sound and visuals, we can help you solve just about any complicated synchronization issue.

New Studios, New Logo, New Web Site
I hope you find this newsletter informative. It's been a very busy year for us, and we would like to share our adventures with you. This month, one year ago, we started construction of our new studios. It took us four full months to complete them before we moved in. We now have two complete control rooms and voice-over booths, allowing us to be even more fllexible in scheduling your projects. During this last year, we've also been building the new face of Dynamix, including our logo and web site. Check out our new website, including the gallery of our new studios. Even better, drop by!
